Show Hack: Popular in Canada for
many years, this event for the highly trained show
horse has become very popular at American shows. Horses
for this class are presumed to have a good foundation
as English show horses, ready for the higher finish
needed to win in show hack. Martha stars off by critiquing
a national champion horse and rider, then proceeds
with the training methods that have enabled her to
win the highest awards, including multiple national
championships. Also covered is equitation form, preferred
sequence of gait calls and how and observer should
watch the class.
Hunter Pleasure: This newly popular
event in Arabian showing is not well understood by
exhibitors or judges. Martha not only presents a thorough
training lesson, but also demonstrates what to watch
for in a hunter pleasure performance. Proper equitation
and attire are displayed and discussed. A separate
20 minute tape on care and braiding of the mane and
tail is also available.
Side Saddle - English and Western: Up
until now, most ladies have taught themselves to ride
aside with little professional guidance. Martha Murdock
presents a knowledgeable and thoughtful approach to
training and showing side saddle. A student of the
history of riding aside, Martha has trained and shown
national champions. Several styles of attire are discussed
in detail as well as different styles of saddles. Three
different horses get their first side saddle ride in
front of our cameras, two with Martha and one with
her sister, Merri. |
